6.27.26 HEN ON NEST - ONE OWNER COLLECTION
Lot 198:
Description
This is a two-piece covered glass dish in the classic hen on nest form, crafted from opaque white milk glass. The piece is designed as a miniature salt cellar or trinket box. The lid is molded in the shape of a nesting hen with detailed feathering on the wings and tail. The base features a scalloped rim and a basketweave texture. While no manufacturer’s mark is visible in the images, the specific modeling and proportions are consistent with the miniature hen on nest series produced by the Westmoreland Glass Company. The hen’s comb and wattle feature remnants of red cold-painted accents.
Condition report:
The dish is in good vintage condition. There is significant wear and loss to the red cold-painted details on the hen\'s head, which is typical for this type of decoration. No chips, cracks, or structural repairs are visible in the photographs. Some minor surface grime is present.
