6.27.26 HEN ON NEST - ONE OWNER COLLECTION
Lot 197:
Description
Attributed to the Westmoreland Glass Company, this vintage two-piece Hen on Nest covered dish is crafted from opaque white milk glass. The material exhibits opalescent qualities, with a visible blue-white translucency along the thin edges of the hen tail and the scalloped rim of the base. The lid is molded in the form of a nesting hen with detailed feathering and features cold-painted red pigment on the comb and wattle. The base is shaped as a basket with a basketweave pattern on the exterior and a wide, ruffled rim.
Condition report:
The item is in good vintage condition. No chips, cracks, or structural repairs are visible. There is minor, age-appropriate wear to the cold-painted red details on the hen comb and wattle.
