6.27.26 HEN ON NEST - ONE OWNER COLLECTION
Lot 196:
Description
This is a two-piece covered animal dish crafted from opaque white milk glass, consisting of a lid and a base. The design features a hen sitting on a nest, a form that is attributed to the Hazel Atlas Glass Company based on the specific molded details and pattern consistent with their production. The lid is sculpted into the shape of a sitting hen with molded feather textures on the body, wings, and tail, along with a distinct comb and wattle on the head. The base is an oval dish featuring a crosshatch basketweave pattern on the exterior. The glass exhibits a smooth, glossy finish characteristic of vintage milk glass. There are no visible maker marks, stamps, or signatures on the interior or exterior of either piece.
Dimensions: Approximately 5.5 inches in length, 4.25 inches in width, and 4.25 inches in height.
Condition report:
The item is in good vintage condition. Visible surface grime and dark residue are present in the crevices of the molded feathers and along the interior rim where the lid meets the base. No chips, cracks, or previous repairs were observed during inspection.
