Description
This polychrome glazed ceramic cookie jar depicts the Walt Disney character Dumbo, attributed to Treasure Craft. The jar is modeled as a seated elephant featuring iconic large ears and a red and yellow ruffled circus collar. The lid consists of Dumbo’s yellow hat, which is topped with a small figure of Timothy Q. Mouse in a red and yellow ringmaster uniform that serves as the handle. The exterior is finished with a high-gloss glaze. The interior of the jar is glazed in a neutral tone.
Condition report:
The item is in fair to good vintage condition. There is visible wear and scuffing to the white-painted toenails on the feet. A small chip is present on the front left foot. Minor scuffs are visible along the lower edges of the ears and the base. The piece shows minor firing and glaze imperfections consistent with age and manufacturing.
