Description
An assortment of decorative objects and figurines primarily featuring elephants in various materials and styles. The collection includes composition elephant figurines with trunks raised, finished in red and dark brown, attributed to Strikalite Ltd., USA, circa 1930s-1940s. Also present are carved stone elephant figurines, likely soapstone, showing varied natural colorations; a seated brass elephant figurine; a stylized ceramic elephant with painted details; and a cast metal elephant-shaped planter with a textured grey finish and pink-painted interior ears. Further items include a silver-toned metal pig-shaped bank with a slotted top, a carved animal figurine on a wheeled base in the style of Schoenhut, and a small Disney Dumbo enamel pin. The items exhibit a range of manufacturing techniques including casting, carving, and molding with various surface treatments such as polishing, patination, and hand-painting. No maker marks were observed.
Condition report:
The collection is in overall good vintage condition with evidence of age and use. Minor surface wear, scratches, and small chips are visible across the items. Metal components show scattered oxidation and minor surface pitting. The composition elephant figurines exhibit some paint loss and fine surface crazing. The stone carvings show minor natural inclusions and surface scuffs. The enamel pin appears to be in good condition.
