Description
An assortment of various vintage novelty salt and pepper shakers and dispensers, primarily made of molded plastic and ceramic. The group features two anthropomorphic pig shakers in blue and yellow attire and a pair of penguin shakers, one with a red bow and necklace, bearing the names MILLIE and WILLIE in molded lettering on their chests. The collection also includes two egg-shaped character shakers with colorful hats and accessories, a blue cylindrical container labeled SALT, an off-white rectangular box labeled Ground PEPPER, and two green and orange cylindrical shakers, one featuring a cutout motif of a deer. These items reflect mid-20th-century kitchenware design and utility.
Condition report:
The collection shows visible surface wear, paint loss, and discoloration throughout, consistent with age and domestic use. There is significant paint loss on the lids of the green and orange shakers and on the blue salt dispenser. The ground pepper dispenser exhibits surface staining and yellowing. Minor scuffs and surface residue are present on the figurative shakers.
