Description
This lot consists of a substantial collection of vintage postcards dating primarily from the mid-20th century. The assortment features a diverse array of subject matter, with a significant concentration on North Carolina coastal regions and military installations. Visible captions include The Pamlico – Ocracoke – Cedar Island Ferry, Outer Banks, N.C., Camp Lejeune, and Jacksonville, N.C. The collection also includes regional souvenirs such as a Texas multi-view card and a card referencing Mooseheart, Illinois. Beyond topographical views, the lot contains novelty items, such as a large-format card reading DON’T WORRY ABOUT ME, and seasonal holiday cards. One card features handwritten notations regarding the Royal Tehran Hilton in Tehran, Iran. The cards are primarily printed using color photo-process (chrome) methods, with some examples featuring decorative scalloped edges. Handwritten dates found within the lot include 4/12/54 and July 28/58.

Condition report:
The cards are in varying vintage conditions ranging from fair to good. Observable wear includes bumped or rounded corners, edge wear, and light surface scuffing. Many cards show age-related toning and yellowing of the paper stock. A significant portion of the lot is postally used, featuring period stamps, postmarks, and handwritten correspondence on the reverse.
