Description
This lot consists of a large collection of vintage color postcards, primarily from the mid-to-late 20th-century chrome era. The collection features a diverse range of topographical and scenic subjects from both domestic and international locations. Notable cards include a wildlife scene featuring a large black bear in a forest, a night view of Trafalgar Square in London featuring a fountain and church spire, and a tropical landscape of a mountain peak above a bay resembling Mount Otemanu in Bora Bora. Other cards depict formal botanical gardens with statues, various stately homes, and travel destinations including a card labeled Fort Lauderdale – Tropical Paradise and another partially labeled Jerusalem. The cards are printed color lithographs on standard weight cardstock.
Approximate dimensions per card: 3.5 inches by 5.5 inches.
Condition report:
The cards appear to be in generally good vintage condition. There is evidence of light edge wear, occasional corner bumping, and minor surface scuffing consistent with age and bulk storage. The colors on the visible cards remain vibrant and saturated. The cards have not been individually inspected for postmarks or handwritten messages on the reverse.
