Description
This two-piece covered miniature dish is executed in the traditional Hen on Nest pattern, a design commonly attributed to various American pressed glass manufacturers including Indiana Glass and Boyd. The piece is crafted from deep, translucent cobalt blue glass. The lid is molded in the form of a nesting hen, featuring detailed feather textures, a prominent comb, and an upturned tail. The interior flange of the lid is finished with a sawtooth edge. The base consists of a circular bowl with a molded basketweave or lattice pattern on the exterior walls and a scalloped, ruffled rim. No maker marks, signatures, or labels are visible on the exterior or interior surfaces shown.
Condition report:
The item appears to be in excellent condition. There are no visible chips, cracks, or repairs to the beak, tail, sawtooth interior rim, or the scalloped edges of the base. The glass remains clean with high translucency.
