Description
This lot consists of an assortment of vintage printed cloth advertising sacks, originally used for the transport and storage of various agricultural and industrial commodities. The collection includes bags of different materials, ranging from lightweight cotton to heavier canvas weaves. Featured items include a 10 lb. sugar sack from the Utah-Idaho Sugar Company based in Salt Lake City, Utah, printed with blue and red text and the slogan A Product of American Agriculture. There is a large 100 lb. wheat flour sack from La Grange Mills with bold red typography. Also included is a poultry feed sack for Ful-O-Pep 32% Poultry Concentrate, decorated with blue-grey graphics and orange illustrations of roosters. A coarser weave bag is printed for Giant Portland Cement, Egypt Brand, which includes a manufacturer mark for the Bemis Bag Co. Each sack displays original commercial branding and typography representative of mid-20th-century packaging.
