Description

This lot consists of a trio of vintage nautical-style wall-mounted bells of varying sizes and designs. The largest bell features a dark brown patinated finish, likely bronze or treated brass, and is mounted to a shield-shaped wooden wall plaque via a curved metal arm. The arm is secured to the plaque with a secondary metal reinforcement bracket and includes a white synthetic pull cord. The medium-sized bell is constructed from cast brass or bronze with a heart-shaped mounting plate featuring two pre-drilled holes for wall attachment. It retains a heavy, aged patina and is fitted with a thick, braided brown rope lanyard. The smallest bell is made of cast brass with a polished finish showing signs of tarnish. It is attached to a vertical rectangular mounting bracket with a pivoting clapper mechanism. No maker’s marks, inscriptions, or hallmarks are visible on the exterior or mounting hardware of any of the items.

Condition report:

All three bells are in used vintage condition, exhibiting surface oxidation, tarnish, and minor pitting consistent with age. The medium bell shows more pronounced surface wear and scratches to the finish. The wooden plaque on the largest bell has minor scuffing and evidence of a functional repair or reinforcement at the mounting bracket. The rope lanyards show some fraying and wear from use. All components appear structurally sound and functional.
