Description

Two vintage American pressed steel toy trucks, attributed to Hubley and dating to the approximately 1940s. This lot includes one utility service truck and one construction vehicle.

The first item is a Bell Telephone utility repair truck finished in olive green. The body features embossed lettering on the side panels reading BELL on the top line and TELEPHONE on the line below. It is equipped with a side-mounted manual hand crank that operates a rear-mounted silver-tone metal crane and winch assembly, complete with a cord and pulley. The vehicle sits on four black rubber tires with metal axles.

The second item is a cement mixer truck featuring a red cab and a green chassis. The rear assembly holds a rotating mixing drum made of unpainted galvanized metal. The cab design shares the same streamlined profile as the utility truck. The vehicle is mounted on black rubber tires.

Condition report:

Both items exhibit significant play wear consistent with age. The Bell Telephone truck shows substantial paint chipping and loss, particularly on the front fenders, hood, and roof, with visible surface oxidation on exposed metal. The crane mechanism and string appear intact and functional. The cement mixer truck displays extensive paint flaking and chipping across the red cab and green chassis. The metal mixing drum shows surface wear and oxidation. Tires on both vehicles are original and show age-related hardening and wear.
