5.28.26 MAY ANTIQUE & GLASS AUCTION
Lot 304:
Description
This group consists of several pieces of American pressed glass with an iridescent carnival finish. Pieces in a marigold color feature the Lustre Rose pattern, attributed to the Imperial Glass Company. These include a covered butter dish with a domed lid and matching underplate, a lidded sugar bowl with two handles, and a single-handled creamer. The pattern is characterized by high-relief roses and foliage against a stippled background. The butter dish underplate features a scalloped, beaded rim and a molded sunburst design on the underside. Additionally, the collection includes a footed compote with a deeply ruffled rim in a red and amberina iridescent finish, decorated with a raised rose and leaf pattern. No maker marks were identified on the pieces during visual inspection.
Condition report:
The collection is in good vintage condition. No significant chips, cracks, or repairs are visible. Minor surface wear and typical variations in the iridescent coating density are present, which are consistent with the age and production methods of carnival glass.
