Description
This is a large vintage handmade crocheted afghan blanket featuring a sunburst or flower-style hexagonal motif pattern. The blanket is constructed from numerous individual hexagons, each with a center worked in a variety of vibrant solid colors including neon pink, orange, yellow, lime green, royal blue, purple, and white. Each colored center is framed by a black crocheted border, and the hexagons are joined together using black yarn to create a continuous piece. The blanket is finished with a decorative scalloped edge around the perimeter. The high-contrast color palette and geometric pattern are characteristic of 1970s-era American fiber arts. The item is constructed from synthetic acrylic yarn, which was a standard material for domestic handmade textiles of this period.

Condition report:
The blanket is in good vintage condition with signs of light use and age. There is general surface pilling and fuzziness to the yarn throughout the piece. No significant tears, holes, or unraveled sections were observed during inspection.
