Description
This is a mid-20th-century molded clear glass countertop display jar produced for Planters Peanuts. The jar features a four-cornered design with large, vertical embossed peanut shell motifs at each corner. Between these motifs, the word PLANTERS is embossed vertically in capital block letters. The matching clear glass lid is topped with a molded peanut-shaped finial handle. The top of the lid is embossed with the brand name PLANTERS twice, arranged in a circular pattern around the finial. Molded characters, including the letters A and M, are visible on the outer edge of the base rim. Pronounced vertical mold seams are present on the body, which is characteristic of the manufacturing process for these commercial jars.
Condition report:
The jar and lid appear to be in good vintage condition. The glass is clear without significant clouding, chips, or cracks. Typical manufacturing mold seams and minor surface shelf wear are present.
