A vintage two-piece covered dish in the traditional hen on nest form. The object is composed of ruby red glass with a frosted satin finish applied to the exterior. The lid is molded in the shape of a nesting hen, featuring detailed relief-molded feathers on the body and tail, a pronounced comb, and a wattle. The base features a beaded rim and a textured basket-weave pattern on the exterior. The interior of the base bowl is finished with a glossy surface, contrasting with the frosted exterior. No factory marks, labels, or signatures were observed on the piece. This dish is in the style of mid-20th-century glasswares produced by manufacturers such as Indiana Glass or Fenton.
