Description
A miniature two-piece pressed glass covered dish in the hen on nest form. The object is composed of deep cobalt blue glass treated with a multi-colored iridescent carnival glass finish. The lid is molded in the shape of a seated hen featuring textured feathering and a raised tail. The base is molded with a scalloped, ruffled rim and a vertically ribbed exterior to simulate a nest. A molded maker’s mark is present on the interior center of the lid but is not clearly legible.
Condition report:
The item is in good condition with no observed chips, cracks, or restorations. Typical manufacturing characteristics of pressed glass, including mold seams and minor surface variations, are present.
