A two-piece pressed glass covered dish manufactured by Mosser Glass, featuring a hen on a nest motif. The lid is designed as a detailed hen with molded feathers, a comb, and an upright tail. The base is a bowl with a vertically ribbed exterior and a wide, scalloped rim. The item is made of cobalt blue glass treated with an iridescent carnival finish that reflects a range of purple, blue, green, and gold colors. The interior of the lid contains an embossed maker mark consisting of a letter M inside a circle, identifying the piece as a product of Mosser Glass of Cambridge, Ohio.
