Description

Attributed to Mosser Glass, this two-piece Hen on Nest covered dish is crafted in opaque aqua blue glass, possibly in the Bonnie Blue colorway. The lid is molded into the form of a hen featuring detailed feather texturing, a prominent comb and wattle, a split tail, and three eggs visible tucked under the side. The base features a wide, scalloped flange rim with a vertically ribbed lower bowl. This style of decorative pressed glass is a classic example of mid-century American tableware. The material exhibits subtle color variations and opacity characteristic of slag or chalice blue glass varieties.

Condition report:

The item is in good condition with no visible chips, cracks, or structural damage. There is minor surface residue and dark accumulation in the deeper crevices of the textured feathers and along the interior rim of the base, consistent with age and previous use.
