5.28.26 MAY ANTIQUE & GLASS AUCTION
Lot 217:
Description
A two-piece pressed glass covered dish fashioned in the form of a hen sitting on a nest. The lid is molded in the shape of a sitting hen with detailed feather textures on the body and tail, and smooth surfaces on the comb, beak, and wattles. The base features an exterior basket-weave pattern and is finished with a distinctive beaded rim. The glass is a uniform translucent olive green color throughout both pieces. While no manufacturer marks, characters, or logos are present on either piece, the design and colorway are consistent with mid-20th-century production by the Indiana Glass Company. The lid and base fit together securely at the rim.
Length: 7 inches.
Condition report:
This item is in excellent vintage condition. There are no observed chips, cracks, or fleabites on the beaded rim, hen\'s comb, tail feathers, or beak. The glass remains clear with no significant surface abrasions.
