Description
This lot consists of two pieces of vintage yellow pressed glass containing uranium oxide, commonly known as Vaseline glass. The first item is a shallow octagonal plate with a smooth surface and a molded circular ring on the base. The second item is a round plate or shallow bowl featuring a decorative scalloped rim and a molded circular base. Both pieces display a translucent yellow color in natural light and exhibit a bright green fluorescence under ultraviolet light. No maker marks, labels, or signatures are visible on either piece. Both items feature molded bases consistent with mass-produced pressed glass techniques of the early to mid-20th century.
Condition report:
Both items are in good vintage condition. There are minor surface scratches and small dark inclusions or ash specks within the glass, which are typical manufacturing artifacts for this type of glassware. No chips, cracks, or repairs are visible.
