Description
This set of five pieces was produced by the Fenton Art Glass Company in 1976 to commemorate the United States Bicentennial. The collection is comprised of four goblets and one eagle figurine crafted from cobalt blue carnival glass, characterized by a molded body treated with an iridescent metallic-oxide coating that produces a multi-colored oil-slick effect. The goblets feature a geometric pattern of faceted hexagons and diamonds on a stemmed pedestal base. The figurine depicts an American Bald Eagle with wings spread, perched upon a thick circular pedestal. The underside of the eagle’s base is embossed with the text American Bicentennial 1976 and 1776 encircling a central starburst motif. An oval Fenton maker’s mark is present on the underside of the figurine base.
Condition report:
The set is in excellent condition with no visible chips, cracks, or fractures. The iridescent finish is vibrant and remains well-preserved across all surfaces with no significant wear, scratching, or loss to the coating.
