Lot 15:
Description
This group consists of three pieces of American green carnival glass featuring a Helios iridescent finish with highlights of gold, blue, and purple. The first item is a lidded oval trinket box, attributed to the Imperial Glass Company. The lid features a central oval medallion with a high-relief female profile in a classical cameo style, surrounded by a beaded border and scroll motifs. The footed box is heavily embossed with a pattern of roses and foliage. The second item is a large oval bowl featuring a molded Poppy pattern on the interior with three blossoms and a diamond point quilted pattern on the exterior. The bowl is finished with a scalloped sawtooth rim and is attributed to Northwood. The third item is a small round bowl featuring a heavily ruffled and crimped rim with a molded radial starburst or whirligig pattern in the center. All pieces are made of transparent green glass treated with a metallic salt spray to create the characteristic iridescent appearance.
Condition report:
All pieces are in good condition with no visible chips, cracks, or repairs. The iridescent finish is well-preserved across all three items with no significant signs of wear, scratching, or loss.
