Description
A collection of various vintage and novelty salt and pepper shakers and related kitchenware. The assortment includes a resin souvenir shaker modeled as the Leaning Tower of Pisa featuring a gold-toned metallic cap; a pair of tall pepper mills in dark-stained turned wood; and a wooden bar utility set in the style of mid-century Japanese exports, composed of two barrel-form anthropomorphic figures on a wooden stand with integrated metal corkscrew and bottle opener accessories. Additionally, the group contains a pair of tan glazed ceramic mug-form shakers marked with the letters P and S, and a pair of novelty ceramic mallet-shaped shakers with wooden handles, featuring hand-painted fruit decorations and labeled SALT and PEPPER. Several smaller turned wood shakers with painted caps are also included. Construction materials consist of ceramic, wood, resin, and metal.
Condition report:
Items exhibit various degrees of age-appropriate wear. Surface paint loss and localized chipping are visible on the wooden components, most notably on the barrel-form figures and smaller wooden shakers. Metal elements show signs of light oxidation and tarnish. Ceramic pieces display minor surface scuffs and shelf wear to the undersides.
