Description
A ceramic washstand set by Baum Bros. in the Formalities pattern. The pieces feature transfer-printed floral designs including pansies and roses, complemented by gold-toned sponged gilding on the rims. The undersides of the vases and the cup bear a printed mark reading ‘Formalities by Baum Bros.™’ in a brown script. A white adhesive label on the base of one piece is printed with ‘Stone & Thomas’, ‘SEA’, ‘VEN’, a barcode, and ‘13607102 FIGRB 12C 2 PC $20.00’.
Condition report:
The set shows loss to the gold sponged gilding on the rims and handles, particularly evident on the lid and handle of the lidded commode as seen in images 1 and 2. No chips or cracks are visible.
