Description
A pressed cobalt blue glass pedestal cake stand featuring the Pinwheel and Star pattern. The flat, circular plate is decorated with a radial design composed of six large pinwheels interspersed with geometric panels containing starbursts and cross-hatching, finished with a ruffled pie-crust rim. The central waisted pedestal stem joins the plate to a circular foot decorated with diamond-point molding. The center of the base underside features an embossed mark comprising a script letter f within a recessed oval (photo 5). This mark identifies the piece as a production of the Fenton Art Glass Company from the 1970s.
Condition report:
A white, opaque internal inclusion or manufacturing flaw is visible on the plate surface (photos 1, 4, and 6). The piece shows minor surface scratches consistent with use. No major chips or cracks are observed on the scalloped edges of the plate or base.
