Description
A clear pressed glass trinket box designed in an ovoid egg form. The piece is constructed in two halves, consisting of a lid and a base. The exterior surface is decorated with a diamond-quilt pattern on the upper and lower sections, divided by a central horizontal band featuring a repeating series of stylized palmette or fan motifs within arched reserves. Both the top of the lid and the underside of the base are finished with a circular sunburst design. The interior of the base is embossed within an oval reserve with the text “AVON”, “Mother’s Day”, and “1977”.
Condition report:
The item is in fair condition with signs of wear consistent with use. There is a small chip located on the interior rim of the lid (photo 5) and a corresponding small chip on the rim of the base (photo 6). Light surface grime and dust are present within the recessed areas of the molded pattern.
