Description

A vintage bridge floor lamp featuring a cast metal frame with a gold-toned finish. The lamp is designed with an arched bridge arm supporting a single downward-facing socket with a turn-knob switch. The central fluted shaft is accented with three marbled light green slag glass components: a circular disc-shaped spacer and two rectangular column segments. As shown in provided images, these glass elements exhibit a vibrant green fluorescence under ultraviolet light, indicating the presence of uranium in the glass. The lamp is topped with a bell-form glass shade featuring a hand-painted landscape scene depicting cottages and windmills against a pink and tan sky. The base is ornately cast with floral and shell motifs and rests on four integral feet. A vintage white electrical cord is attached. No manufacturer marks are visible on the metal surfaces or glass components.

Condition report:

The cast metal frame exhibits widespread surface wear, oxidation, and loss of the gilt finish, particularly on the base and the fluted portions of the stem (photo 1, 4). The painted glass shade appears intact with minor surface scuffs (photo 1). The green slag glass segments appear free of significant cracks or chips (photo 2, 3, 5). The electrical wiring and socket are in aged condition and are untested; rewiring by a professional is recommended prior to use.
