Lot 101b:
Description
Mid-20th-century American lawn ornament in the form of a standing buck with a multi-point rack of antlers. The piece is constructed from solid cast concrete with remnants of a painted finish and stands on an integral rounded base.
Condition report:
The statue is in a heavily weathered state consistent with long-term outdoor exposure. Significant loss of the original paint finish is visible across the entire body, revealing the gray concrete underneath (photo 2). Widespread biological growth, including moss and lichen, is present on the upper surfaces, head, and antlers (photo 1). The concrete shows surface pitting and erosion throughout, and the integral base has accumulated dirt and grime (photo 1).
