6.25.26 JUNE ANTIQUE & GLASS AUCTION
Lot 424:
Description
This lot comprises three vintage animal foothold traps of North American manufacture. The first is a small coil-spring trap featuring a circular pan with a punched V shaped cutout, identifying it as an Oneida Victor model. The second is a medium-sized double long-spring steel trap with a linked chain. The third is a large double long-spring trap equipped with a heavy-gauge chain and an attached rectangular metal identification tag. The traps are constructed from wrought iron and steel. Surface oxidation is present across all components.
Condition report:
All three items are in fair antique condition, exhibiting significant surface rust, heavy pitting, and a dark brown patina consistent with long-term outdoor exposure. The structural components, including chains and end rings, appear intact. Mechanical functionality and spring tension are untested.
