Description
A vertical rectangular advertising sign for Cactus Tire Boots and Patches, constructed from embossed stamped metal. The sign features a two-tone background with bright yellow on the top and dark green at the bottom. The company name is rendered in large orange letters with black stylized spines at the top. The graphic elements include a brand mascot known as Kaktus Kid, wearing a sombrero and standing on a vintage green automobile, as well as a man in a green suit and fedora inspecting a flat tire. The sign includes the promotional text The Only Guaranteed Repair for Balloon Cord and Fabric Tires and Carry Cactus in Your Car. The piece has four pre-drilled mounting holes, one at each corner. The reverse side displays the debossed negative image of the front graphics and text.
Condition report:
The front face is in very good condition with bright, saturated colors and clear imagery. There is minor surface wear and some oxidation visible around the mounting holes. The reverse side shows more significant signs of age, including overall discoloration, surface scuffing, and oxidation concentrated along the edges.
