6.27.26 HEN ON NEST - ONE OWNER COLLECTION
Lot 202:
Description
Produced by the Mosser Glass Company of Cambridge, Ohio, this contemporary two-piece covered dish is fashioned in the Hen on Nest pattern. The item is constructed from opaque slag glass, displaying a variegated color palette that transitions from a bright dandelion yellow on the body to vibrant orange-red highlights on the head, tail feathers, and the base rim. The lid is molded in the form of a nesting hen with detailed feathering. The base features an exterior basketweave pattern and a flared, scalloped rim. The underside of the base is embossed with the Mosser factory mark, a stylized letter M within a shield, and retains the original gold and black foil factory label reading Mosser Glass, Cambridge, Ohio. Under ultraviolet light, the orange-tinted areas of the glass exhibit a strong orange and yellow fluorescence, which is characteristic of cadmium glass.
Condition report:
The item is in excellent condition with no visible chips, cracks, or repairs. The original foil factory label is present and well-preserved.
