Description
This limited edition color offset lithograph, titled Looking For Trouble, is by American wildlife artist Ralph J. McDonald. The artwork depicts five black Labrador Retriever puppies exploring a marshy wetland environment, with one puppy standing in the water and another pulling on the line of a floating duck decoy. The print is hand-signed by the artist in pencil in the lower right margin and is also plate-signed with a 1986 copyright date. It is hand-numbered 635/980. The reverse of the frame features a certificate of authenticity from Countryside Studio, Inc. of Gallatin, Tennessee, which notes the edition was limited to 980 signed and numbered prints. A gallery label from Petersen Prints is also present on the backing paper. The piece is presented in a dark wood frame under glass with a double mat.
Condition report:
The print and matting show noticeable overall toning and light discoloration. The paper appears slightly buckled within the frame. The wooden frame has minor surface abrasions and dust. On the reverse, the certificate of authenticity is stained, partially torn, and affixed to the backing paper with tape.
