Description
A Coleman brand dual-mantle camping lantern, identified as Model 220J. The lantern features a dark green enameled fount and a matching green enameled top vent. The clear glass globe is marked with the inscription PYREX MADE IN U.S.A. FOR Coleman. A silver-tone metal collar surrounds the central stem, bearing the stamped text MODEL 220J and MADE IN U.S.A. along with operating and safety instructions. The black plastic control knob is marked with directional instructions including OPEN, TURN TO LIGHT, and CLOSE. A red and white Coleman logo decal is affixed to the side of the green fount. The lantern is equipped with a wire bail handle for transport and two used mantles are attached to the burner assembly. The unit sits within a red plastic protective storage base embossed with COOL LANTERN BEFORE STORING and CAUTION.
Condition report:
The lantern is in used condition. Visible oxidation and surface wear are present on the wire bail handle, burner frame, and silver-tone collar. The Coleman decal on the fount shows significant age-related cracking and minor losses. The enameled surfaces exhibit some minor scratches and surface dirt. The internal mantles are used and fragile. Functional condition has not been tested.
