Description
A double-sided vintage point-of-purchase advertising sign for The Classic Label pet foods. The sign is constructed of stiff cardboard and features a graphic design consisting of repeating red and black diagonal stripes. Centered on both sides is a large yellow serrated burst containing black printed text. The text includes the heading Check The Classic Label with a checkmark, followed by product claims such as Natural Vitamin E & Citric Acid, Low Ash Chicken B.P. Meal & Whole Eggs, and Corn and Brewers Yeast. It also lists exclusions including No Ethoxyquin, BHT or BHA, No Soybean or Meat & Bone Ml., and No Wheat Middlings or Fillers. Yellow banners at the bottom corners read 1ST CLASSIC and #1 PET FOODS. A metal wire hanger is attached through a punched hole at the top center. The graphics on the reverse side are oriented 180 degrees relative to the front.
Condition report:
The sign is in fair condition. The front face shows a significant area of surface loss and paper tearing at the bottom center, which obscures part of the lower banner graphics. The edges show moderate wear and minor creasing. The reverse side exhibits extensive surface tearing, paper loss, and lifting across the central graphic. There is light foxing and minor soiling visible along the white borders on both sides.
