Description
A rectangular metal advertising sign for Classic Pet Foods. The sign is designed with a two-toned background. The upper portion features a red field with a repeating black diagonal line pattern, featuring the brand name CLASSIC PET FOODS in white serif font with a registered trademark symbol. The lower half of the sign is a solid black field containing several lines of white slab-serif text. The text includes the phrases 100% SATISFACTION GUARANTEED, TESTED & PROVEN, and COMPLETE NUTRITION. The bottom line features the slogan YOUR BEST BET FOR YOUR PET enclosed in quotation marks. The sign is constructed from pressed metal, potentially tin or aluminum, and includes small pre-drilled mounting holes at the top and bottom center edges. There are no visible manufacturer marks on the front of the sign.
Condition report:
The sign is in good vintage condition with visible signs of wear consistent with age. The surface shows scattered scratches, scuffing, and minor paint loss, particularly within the black field. There is discoloration and light staining along the white borders and in the red graphic section. The edges exhibit minor oxidation and light rusting.
