5.28.26 MAY ANTIQUE & GLASS AUCTION
Lot 99:
Description
This collection of vintage novelty salt and pepper shakers features various reptilian-themed ceramic figures characteristic of mid-20th-century Florida tourist souvenirs. The assortment includes upright turtles with tan bodies and gold-tone luster accents on the shell segments, reclining yellow alligators decorated with brown spots, and crawling turtles with dark, textured shells featuring a yellow pattern. Each piece is crafted from glazed pottery with hand-painted details and multiple perforated holes on the upper surfaces for dispensing. One of the alligator figures bears a stamped mark on the underside that reads FLORIDAS SILVER SPRINGS. The figures exhibit the high-gloss finish typical of this period of souvenir ware.
Condition report:
The collection is in good overall condition, showing a bright, high-gloss glaze. Minor surface wear and faint scuffing are present, consistent with age and light handling. No significant chips, cracks, or restorations are visible upon inspection.
