Description
This vintage industrial shipping crate is constructed from softwood panels reinforced with vertical and horizontal wood bracing and assembled with nails. The front side features black stenciled text reading FROM THE LAMSON & SESSIONS CO. CLEVELAND, OHIO. U.S.A. One end panel is stenciled with delivery information for CHILLICOTHE HDWE. & SUPPLY INC. CHILLICOTHE OHIO and content specifications for 4500 1/4 X 2 LAM. CARRIAGE BOLTS 205 LBS. One side panel features a handwritten notation in black ink reading A.H. 50. The interior is open and unfinished.
Condition report:
The crate is in good vintage condition with wear consistent with industrial use and age. The wood exhibits a natural aged patina with visible surface abrasions, minor staining, and small splits. The stenciled graphics remain clear and legible. The structure is sound and intact.
