Description
A large vintage industrial shipping crate constructed from rough-sawn wood planks and secured with iron nails. The crate features reinforced vertical corner supports and an open-top design. One end panel is marked with a black ink stencil that reads FROM WILLIAMSPORT PAPER CO. WILLIAMSPORT, PA. The lettering is arranged in an arched format with the company name over the city and state. The construction consists of multiple horizontal boards on the sides and bottom.
Condition report:
The crate is in well-used industrial condition with age-appropriate wear throughout. The wood exhibits weathering, surface scuffs, scratches, and natural splits. A notable area of white-colored residue or staining is present on one of the long side panels. One end panel shows a section of wood broken away along the top edge. The iron nails show significant oxidation and surface rust.
