Description
An Art Nouveau revival figural table lamp, attributed to Andrea by Sadek. The lamp is constructed of cast metal with a dark bronze-toned patina and is mounted on a circular, stepped base of polished dark green marble. The sculpture depicts a winged fairy seated at the base of flowering narcissus or daffodil stalks. A single, slender gooseneck arm curves over the figure, terminating in a downward-facing socket. The socket is partially enclosed by a scalloped, petal-form metal fitter designed to hold a glass shade. The electrical socket retains a blue and white Underwriters Laboratories (UL) label for a portable luminaire. No maker’s marks or artist signatures are visible on the metalwork or marble base.
Condition report:
The lamp is in good decorative condition with light surface dust and minor wear to the finish consistent with age. Small spots of oxidation are visible on the metal stems. The glass shade is missing. One light bulb is included but its functionality is not guaranteed. The lamp is fitted with a modern brown plastic cord and two-prong plug; electrical functionality is untested. Professional inspection is recommended prior to use.
