Attributed to Mosser Glass, this two-piece decorative covered dish is designed in the traditional hen on nest form. The piece is crafted from purple slag glass, featuring marbled swirls of opaque white and deep amethyst. The lid is modeled as a seated hen with molded feather detail, and the base displays a basket-weave pattern with a wide, scalloped rim. This item is characteristic of mid-20th-century American pressed glass production. No embossed maker marks or signatures are visible.
