Description
A pressed glass decorative lid in the form of a nesting hen produced by the Westmoreland Glass Company of Grapeville, Pennsylvania. The piece is crafted from translucent amber-colored glass and features detailed feather textures across the body and wings, a split upright tail, and a defined comb and beak. An original circular black and gold foil factory label is affixed to the side, displaying the Westmoreland Glass name and a central keystone mark with the letter W. The item is manufactured using the pressed glass technique, with visible mold seams. This lot comprises the lid component only.
Condition report:
This item is the lid only and lacks the corresponding nest base. A significant hairline crack is present across the upper back of the hen, behind the neck area. Standard mold seams and minor surface scuffing consistent with age are visible.
