5.28.26 MAY ANTIQUE & GLASS AUCTION
Lot 372:
Description
This vintage art glass decorative piece is fashioned in the form of a top hat, a style often referred to as a whimsey or posy vase. The item is characterized by a vibrant amberina color gradient, transitioning from a deep ruby red at the wide, ruffled brim to a translucent yellow-amber at the base. The exterior body features a molded hobnail pattern, and a single translucent yellow handle is applied to the side. The piece rests on a simple circular pedestal foot. Based on the form and pattern, this item is attributed to mid-century American glass manufacturers such as the Fenton Art Glass Company or Kanawha Glass. No maker’s marks or signatures are visible on the base or body, which is typical for pieces originally issued with paper labels.
Condition report:
The item is in excellent condition with no visible chips, cracks, or flea bites. The glass exhibits high clarity and a glossy surface luster throughout. There is no evidence of repair or restoration.
