Description
This antique cast iron toy is a Budweiser brewery wagon pulled by a team of eight horses. The wagon features a red-painted body with blue trim and cream-colored spoked wheels, carrying a full load of individually cast miniature brown barrels. Seated on the front of the wagon are two cast iron teamster figures, one finished in black and the other in dark green. The team of eight horses is rendered in a reddish-brown color with gold-toned highlights on the harness elements. The horses are arranged in four pairs and linked together by a cast metal hitch and wire reins. While visually identical to sets produced by American manufacturers such as Hubley or Kenton, no maker marks are present.
Condition report:
The toy is in good vintage condition with moderate to heavy paint wear, chipping, and surface oxidation consistent with age and use. All major components and accessories appear to be present and intact.
