5.28.26 MAY ANTIQUE & GLASS AUCTION
Lot 330:
Description
A collection of large-scale blow-mold plastic decorative candles, characteristic of mid-to-late 20th-century outdoor holiday displays. This assortment includes pieces featuring green and white spiral stripes and others with blue and white spiral stripes. Each candle is constructed from hollow molded plastic and features a translucent yellow flame-shaped top cap, simulated dripping wax relief detail at the upper rim, and a white fluted trumpet-style base. While no manufacturer marks are visible, these items are in the style of holiday blow-molds produced by companies such as Union Products and Grand Venture. The items are designed for internal illumination, though specific electrical components were not examined. Based on their scale relative to the standard workbench in the images, the height is approximately 36 to 40 inches.
Condition report:
The collection shows signs of age and significant outdoor use. Visible wear includes surface dirt, scuffs, scratches, and general discoloration, particularly noticeable on the yellow flame covers and white bases. There is some fading to the blue and green pigment. The electrical wiring and light sockets were not tested and may be missing or require replacement.
