5.28.26 MAY ANTIQUE & GLASS AUCTION
Lot 309:
Description
This collection consists of various mid-century decorative glass and ceramic objects. The glassware includes two molded glass squirrel figurines, one in transparent emerald green and one in cobalt blue. Also included are two heart-shaped dishes featuring a red and white swirl pattern, resembling the style of Fenton slag or agate glass, with scroll-molded decorative rims. A single ruby glass vase features a scalloped, ruffled rim and a base with a yellowish tint indicative of an amberina glass effect. The ceramic items include a pair of white glazed hen salt and pepper shakers with red combs, a pair of stylized upright rooster shakers with cold-painted black and red details, and a pair of bird figurines (one yellow with spots, one black) housed in a miniature wooden crate with straw bedding. Completing the assortment are two miniature ceramic figurines, including a green-glazed bird and a brown animal figure. No factory marks, signatures, or model numbers are visible on the pieces.
Condition report:
The cold-painted accents on the upright rooster shakers show significant wear and paint loss. One heart-shaped swirl glass dish has an internal stress fracture or heat check near the central swirl. The remaining pieces display minor surface wear and shelf wear consistent with age.
