Description
This two-piece clear pressed glass covered dish, known as a Hen on Nest, is attributed to the Indiana Glass Company. The piece consists of a lid in the form of a sitting hen with intricate molded feather detailing on the body, wings, and tail. The oval-shaped base features a textured exterior surface mimicking a nest and is finished with a beaded or Candlewick-style rim. Produced from clear, colorless glass, this item is a classic example of American mid-century decorative tableware. No maker marks or logos are present on the base or lid.
Condition report:
The item is in good vintage condition. No chips, cracks, or repairs are observed upon visual inspection. Minor manufacturing artifacts common to pressed glass, such as small air bubbles and straw marks, may be present. The rims of both the lid and base appear smooth without notable fleabites.
