Description
This two-piece decorative covered dish is crafted from translucent light blue pressed glass, a form commonly known as a Rabbit on Nest or Bunny on Basket. The set consists of a lid in the shape of a seated rabbit and a shallow circular base. The rabbit lid features a textured, horizontal wavy pattern across the body to represent fur, while the ears and facial features are smooth. The base is designed with an embossed basketweave pattern on the exterior to resemble a woven nest or basket. No maker marks, signatures, or factory labels are visible on either piece. This specific form and color are characteristic of mid-century American pressed glass and are in the style of items produced by manufacturers such as Mosser Glass and L.E. Smith.
