Description
A vintage covered glass dish in the classic hen on nest form, manufactured by Mosser Glass. The piece is composed of a lid molded as a nesting hen with detailed plumage and a split tail, and a matching base featuring an exterior basketweave pattern and a wide scalloped rim. The material is a marbled slag glass, also known as marble glass, displaying variegated swirls of blue-grey, tan, and white. A molded maker’s mark is present on the interior of the lid near the tail, consisting of a capital letter M inside a circle, identifying it as a production of the Mosser Glass company of Cambridge, Ohio.
Condition report:
The item appears to be in good overall condition. There are no visible chips, cracks, or significant surface scratches. The lid and base match in color and pattern consistency.
