Description
A two-piece pressed glass covered novelty dish in the form of a nesting hen, rendered in a vibrant, uniform lemon-yellow opaque glass often referred to as yellow milk glass. The lid features a detailed molded hen with prominent feathering, a raised comb, and a fanned tail. The base features a wide, scalloped rim and a tapered body with a smooth interior. The underside of the base is finished with a molded basketweave pattern. The form and color are highly characteristic of the Dandelion pattern produced by Mosser Glass; however, no manufacturer marks are visible on either piece.
Length: Approximately 7 inches.
Condition report:
The item is in excellent condition with no visible chips, cracks, or repairs. Minor, inherent production-related mold lines and shear marks are present, which are typical of pressed glassware of this type and period.
